Family history, from tailors to exclusive atelier
Atelier Le Spose di Mori is led by the fourth generation of the Mori Family, a symbol of tradition and quality.
“In the early 1900s the business was started as a household linen store by our great-grandfather, supplemented over the years with the sale of dressmaking fabrics until it became a full-fledged tailoring atelier. Mrs. Altina, our mother, in the 1960s raised the level of the atelier begin to sell and make formal dresses of the highest quality,” Angela Mori tells us.
Today, siblings Angela, Stefano and Giovanni continue to honor the Mori Family tradition in the wedding dress industry by paying the utmost attention to tailoring, an undisputed synonym for quality. This is how the Atelier Le Spose di Mori over the years has established itself as a reference point for the Central Italian market, attracting Brides from every corner of the country and the world right to San Miniato to discover the latest trends and find the perfect dress for the most beautiful day of their lives.
How trends have changed over the years even given the emergence of major international brands
Atelier Le Spose di Mori features a selection of the most important brands in the industry such as Berta, Galia Lahav and Zuahir Murad, true fashion houses entirely dedicated to the bridal world.
“A fundamental part of our job is to keep up to date with market trends but above all to know and recognize quality. Every year we fly to New York, Barcelona, Paris and every corner of the world, not forgetting Milan, to participate in the most exclusive events to present new collections. These events are very important to get to know the collections in depth but also the individual models so that, back in the Atelier, we can offer the best shopping experience for our brides but also grooms,” Giovanni Mori tells us just back from New York.
As a matter of fact, Le Spose di Mori also offers brides the collections of Berta Priveè, Muse By Berta, Andrea Sedici, Millanova, Claudio di Mari, Alessandro Angelozzi, Vera Wang, Pronovias, Nicole Milano without ever closing itself to new discoveries. Grooms of course are also welcome to discover gowns by Carlo Pignatelli, Armani, Corneliani, Tagliatore, Luigi Bianchi, Cleofe Finati and other big names.
The importance of the relationship with wedding planners
“Choosing a dress is the most important moment for a bride in her journey to the big day: expert advice is what makes this moment a true experience. The wedding planner, as a guide throughout the wedding planning process, gets to know the bride, but also the groom, and the mood of the entire event, thus becoming an indispensable help for us in getting to know in turn the couples in search of the perfect dress,” Mori Brothers agrees wholeheartedly in telling us how they usually work with wedding planners.
The dream dress is the result of careful research and selection that only the experienced and up-to-date eye of tailors like the Mori Brothers can guide. Market ideas and influences, like the opinions of loved ones, can often be a source of indecision, which is why the experience of the Mori Brothers is so important in guiding the bride and groom and interpreting their wishes.
The latest and exclusive trends
“Our exclusive selection of dress trends presents sensual mermaid and nude gowns, according to the trend of the moment, but without forgetting the desires of all those brides who dream of a princely gown for their big day. In 2023, the dress with tattoo effect trim is on trend: cutting-edge and top-quality fabrics also allow strapless dresses with precious and elegant bodices, embroidery and decorative materials characterized by minimalism and romance. Softness is key word for 2023 collections: satin, tulle, chiffon and organza finely decorated with small crystal stones, feathers, rhinestones and sequins.”
Plans for the future
“Research is what allows us to keep the Atelier as a reference point for those who are looking for quality. Our goal is to continue to travel the world to discover and update ourselves so that we can return to our San Miniato and be able to realize the dreams of all brides and grooms for their big day. We also have a dream in the drawer, a big ambitious project that we can’t wait to reveal to you!”
