Wedding

Daniela & Luca

A baroque wedding framed in the Tuscan hills, the dream of a young couple takes place at Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte.

A baroque wedding in Tuscany

When Daniela and Luca, a young couple from Milan fascinated by Tuscany and its landscape, turned to our team, their ideas for their wedding were already clear. They wanted a sumptuous event with feathers and golden details in the style of Marie Antoinette.

The baroque atmospheres, rich in details, of France in the eighteenth-century were our guiding thread for the organization of the entire event. From the floral arrangement of the church to the tableau de mariage, from the placeholders to the furnishings: everything reflected the couple’s desires and fantasies.

In agreement with the bride and the groom we chose a palette of pastel colors – white, pink and lilac – that matched perfectly with the golden details required by the theme. The religious ceremony took place in the early afternoon in Florence in the church of Santa Maria Novella. According to the wishes of the couple, in addition to the decorations of the altar and the seats of the couple, the central nave was also the subject of an important decoration that covered its entire length, about 100 meters. Vertical floral compositions in semiarch, candles and golden lanterns were the background for the entrance of Daniela in her marvelous wedding dress and framed the couple’s exit from the church as a husband and wife.

Reception: Villa Corsini as Versailles

After the ceremony and the usual photos, the couple and their guests headed to the location chosen to host the reception. Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte, a few minutes from Florence, surrounded by the Tuscan hills, has enchanted the couple, transforming for a day in their personal palace of Versailles. The guests were welcomed in the Italian Garden where they enjoyed a light aperitif and admired the suggestive champagne cascade initiated by the groom, a detail that immediately entertained all the guests and started the festivities.

Then, the gallery of the villa accommodated all 170 guests for dinner. Feathers, damask tablecloths, crystal glasses, crystal and golden candelabras were the absolute protagonists of the decoration. To recall the wedding theme, the names of the tables included those of the places where Marie Antoinette lived: like Versailles, Petit Trianon, and Palais Royal. In the same way also the mise en place with the feather on the napkin, boxes with macarones as placeholders for guests, was designed to be in line with the style chosen by Daniela and Luca.

For the cake cutting, the guests were back outside again, in the lawn adjacent to the villa. Here there were baroque furnishings – sofas, tables and chairs with golden profiles – and Medici bowls decorated with a triumph of flowers and feathers. Comfortably seated open air, in the warmth of a splendid summer evening, the guests attended the cutting of the wedding cake, a five-storey millefeuille, and the fireworks and music show that highlighted the moment. The wedding party continued in the frescoed rooms of the villa until dawn.
