A week after the conclusion of the Wedding Industry Meeting it’s time to summarize the day by telling each moment of the event of which we were creators, organizers and promoters.
Double attendance at WIM 2019
The second edition of the Wedding Industry Meeting confirmed the event as the most important B2B event in the wedding industry. We are delighted that the initiative of Corsini.Events Group aimed at creating an opportunity for aggregation and networking, something that was lacking in Italy, is today a consolidated event that embraces not only the destination wedding in Tuscany, but the entire wedding industry.
This year 280 people were present at Villa Corsini in Mezzomonte, representing 165 market operators active throughout Italy. All this would not have been possible without the support and help of the numerous institutional partners who, once again, supported the initiative promoted by Corsini.Events Group. Special thanks, therefore, go to the Tuscany Region and the Municipality of Florence as sponsors, to the Chamber of Commerce of Florence and to Tuscany Airports as financiers, to Tuscany for Weddings, to the Destination Florence Convention & Visitors Bureau and to Tuscany Tourism Promotion as host destination partner of the event.
A day of meetings and conferences
Our organization has planned an intense day with B2B appointments and conferences divided equally between morning and afternoon. Thanks to a matchmaking program, the wedding planners participating in WIM 2019 had the opportunity to schedule 15-minute meetings with location owners and specialized service providers such as catering, photographers, florists, digital marketing and branding experts.
The interventions of the speakers, already announced on the website and on social media, began in the early afternoon with the panel discussion dedicated to wedding planners who in the course of 2018 were able to stand out for their activities and events. Participants were Valentina Moneglia from Blanc Ricevimenti, Alessia Santa from White Emotion, Giorgia Fantin Borghi and Elisa Mocci. The discussion and advice provided by these four professionals has greatly interested the audience gathered under the stage.
This was followed by the media partners of the event with a panel discussion dedicated to communication of Tuscany as a wedding destination. Participants: Simona Spinola for Zankyou Weddings, Paola Pizzo of Sposi Magazine, Matteo Tosi, Fashion Blogger & Digital Strategist for Weddingfashionblog.com, Alessandra Campagnola, Blogger of Passione Wedding & Event, Francesca Ragone, Lookmaker for Beyouty and Giuliana Parabiago of Elle Sposa.
Market research presented at WIM 2019
In the late afternoon the final conference started by our CEO Tommaso Corsini began. The representatives of the institutions that support WIM have therefore taken the stage one by one for a brief greeting: Stefano Ciuoffo, Councilor for productive activities and tourism of the Tuscany Region, Niccolò Manetti, representative of the Chamber of Commerce of Florence, Federico Barraco, Chief Communications Officer of Toscana Aeroporti, Carlotta Ferrari, Director of DFCVB and Tuscany for Weddings.
The interest of the participants especially rewarded the market researches carried out exclusively for the event. Alessandro Tortelli, Scientific Director of the Centro Studi Turistici di Firenze, presented the results of research on new wedding trends as well as comprehensive data on the current situation of destination wedding in Tuscany. Finally, the word was passed to Lorenzo Mosti, Digital Strategist Manager of Sinerbit, web agency and digital partner of the event, who introduced the results of the Digital Thermometer, a study on the web reputation of Tuscany as a wedding destination with respect to national and international competitors.
The 2020 edition has been announced
The success of the event in just one year has given us the courage to push ourselves even further. Faithful to our philosophy, “Dream seriously, act bravely”, during the final conference we announced the date of the next edition: March 18, 2020! For the occasion, WIM will become international by foreseeing the presence and involvement of buyers from abroad.
