Wedding Industry Meeting is the event reserved for Tuscan professionals in the wedding and events sector. This particular format was conceived in 2018 by Tommaso Corsini, founder/general manager of Corsini.Events Group. The goal is to bring together the different workers active in private events and weddings.
Moreover, the aim is to make Tuscany a leader in the national and international wedding market. And the better way is to develop a shared strategy.
B2B meetings and thematic panels on weddings and events
After the digital edition of 2020, due to the pandemic, in November 2021 Wedding Industry Meeting returned with two days of B2B meetings and five thematic panels. The event, organized in Siena, saw over 60 buyers and many sellers participate on the first day.
During the second day, media, trade associations, international operators of the sector, and hotellerie professionals discussed the future of the events industry and the future of Destination Weddings in Tuscany.
The data record a +20% for marriages until 2024
Among the most engaging and encouraging data that emerged during WIM, there is a 20% increase in the number of marriages compared to 2019 in the next three years. So, it represents a positive fact that shows how also Tuscany can return to be the protagonist hosting Destination wedding from abroad, but also an Italian wedding.
According to professionals in the sector, bookings for the organization of weddings and events already arrive until 2024. This kind of request overlaps with the events to be re-planned because of the pandemic.
The web reputation about the Destination wedding in Tuscany
In occasione di WIM, l’agenzia web Sinerbit ha presentato i dati relativi alla web reputation della Toscana, all’interno del mercato del Destination wedding mondiale. I numeri più importanti, per quanto riguarda le ricerche su Google, riguardano la crescita nel 2021 per le parole chiave “Tuscan wedding” da parte del mercato asiatico. Un +467%, dopo il calo del 73% registrato nel 2020, anno della pandemia.
Per quanto riguarda gli hashtag più usati su Instagram, #weddingintuscany registra un +38% rispetto al 2020, confermandosi al primo posto. Tra i trend che emergono, c’è poi il concetto matrimonio sostenibile con gli sposi che chiedono materiali riciclati, prodotti a km zero e la riduzione degli sprechi.
Gala Dinner in the Municipality of Siena
The fourth edition of WIM also hosted an exclusive Gala dinner in the Municipality of Siena, in piazza del Campo. The first part of the evening took place on the terrace of the building. The aperitif was accompanied by two Lumen Invoco’s performances. The artists played a show of bright butterflies and a Led show with the logos of WIM partners.
Later, dinner began in the Sala del Mappamondo, which welcomed guests with its frescoes, an orchestra with live music, and a buffet of typical Tuscan products. The guests of WIM were also able to take part in guided tours in the halls of the palace to discover the historical and artistic beauties preserved inside.
